Urine contaminated rugs, how we clean them.
The first thing we do when we get a urine contaminated rug into our unit (whether its from the family pet or a family member) We always inspect it for any damage, staining and colour loss or colour migration.
We then roll the rug up and place it in a poly tube, the tube is then filled up with cold water with our rug sanitiser solution in there as well. The rug is then left for between 1 and 4 hours. This is enough time for the cleaning solution to break down all the urine and odour in the rug. The bag acts like a bath letting the water and cleaning solution marinate deep into the pile and the knots of the rug.
The rug is then taken out of the bag and laid out flat on our wash floor. We then rinse the rug with several gallons of water. This flushes out all the dirt, urine, bacteria, sand and soil. The rug is then put through the deep clean process. Please follow this link to read all about our rug cleaning process https://www.plymouthrugcleaning.co.uk/procedure/
Your rug is then returned to you clean, fresh and urine free!
