Hi it is Captain Rug Wash from Plymouth Rug Cleaning here.

I come across many rugs throughout the year that have been damaged by a carpet cleaner cleaning rugs in customers houses or the customer cleaning their rugs themselves with a hired machine.

These are both bad ideas, rugs need a lot of water to fully flush out all the dirt, stains, odour and dry soil. This simple cannot be done with a carpet cleaners machine or a hired machine.

Get the dry soil out is a very dusty process, one that is carried out with specialist cleaning machines.  Getting rugs wet in the home and leaving them to dry on your hard flooring or carpet can cause damage to both the rug and the floor underneath. I have seen several times a customer clean or have cleaned a rug in their home and the rug has shrunk, warped or the colours have bleed not only onto the carpet but also on the rug itself.

Rugs that are not cleaned properly in the home can cause mould, damp and  mildew and also odour problems. Always seek a professional rug cleaner when wanting your rugs cleaned.
