CLEANING PROCEDURE
Every rug we clean is unique and may require a different cleaning method. Not all rugs can handle large amounts of water, so we would use a different method which uses less water to get the rug clean,
There are several tests we do before we get to the cleaning process, one of which is testing the dyes which can take upto 24 hours just to complete this process. There are many other problem areas we look at which include, the condition of the fringes, wear on the front and back of the rug, dye migration, previous spots and spillages, pet stains, poor quality weaving flaws, moth damage. all this is done before any cleaning is started.
TESTING As stated above all this is done before the cleaning process. With 3 stages of dye testing taking upto 24 hours to complete.
DRY SOIL REMOVAL This is where we use our state of the art RugBadger machine. Which extracts several pounds of dry soil. This is key in the cleaning process because if this dry soil was not removed it would turn into mud once any water is put on the rug. Once this happens it is very hard to extract out all the soil.
VACUMMING The face of the rug is then vacummed to pick up any fluff and soil left on the suface after the RugBagder process.
SPOTTING We then use a number of safe spotting solutions to help break down the stains
CLEANING We then spray a choosen cleaning solution onto the rug, The rug is sprayed witha dye set solution to help stop dye migration. The rug is then rinsed with water and extracted with our high power cleaning equipment. The rugs are washed throughly using solutions that are ECO- FREINDLY and safe on your rugs.
FRINGE CLEANING The fringes are cleaned with a solution, then rinsed using a hand tool. Helping to restore the whiteness back to the fringes. You can have the fringes replaced if you prefer.sometimes they do not come as clean as a customer wishes. As rug purists we do not like replacing fringes as they are the foundation of the rug. We like to see character in the rug and also any work done like this may de-value you piece of art.
DRYING It is critical that the rugs are dried as fast as possible. The rug is placed face down and we use high powered air movers to dry them. The longer the washed rug is left wet, the higher the risk of dangers such as dye migration. So great care is taken in the drying process.
